Terms of service.

Effective May 11, 2026.

Plain-language summary up top, full terms below. By using Cue you agree to both. If you don't, please don't use the app.

  • You own your diary entries. We don't claim them.
  • Be decent to other users. We can remove accounts that aren't.
  • Don't try to break or abuse the service.
  • Music-service connections (Spotify, Apple Music) are governed by those services' own terms.
  • Sponsored placements are paid ads; we vet them but they don't represent Cue's endorsement.
  • App is provided "as is." We'll do our best, but can't guarantee it's bug-free or available 24/7.

1. Who we are

Cue (the "Service") is operated by Jonah Dworkin (the "Operator," "we," "us") from Los Angeles, USA. Contact: info@jointhecue.app.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 to use Cue. If you're between 13 and the age of majority where you live, you confirm a parent or guardian agrees to these terms on your behalf.

3. Your account

  • You sign in via Sign in with Apple and are responsible for what happens under your account.
  • Don't impersonate people, brands, or artists. Verified artist accounts come later; until then, fan-made tributes are fine but don't claim to be the artist.
  • You can delete your account any time (Settings → Delete account). Deletion removes all your data within 30 days.

4. Your content

  • You own your entries: the songs you log, notes you write, moods you tag.
  • To run the app, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and reproduce your content on Cue's surfaces. It ends when you delete the content or your account.
  • Zero tolerance for objectionable content: nothing illegal, threatening, harassing, hateful, discriminatory, violent, sexually explicit, infringing, or promoting self-harm, in any field a user can fill in.

5. Reporting, blocking & moderation

  • Every entry, comment, and profile has a Report option; any user can be blocked.
  • We review reports of objectionable content within 24 hours and remove or restrict violations. Repeat or severe violations end the account.
  • A pre-publish filter catches obvious slurs and explicit terms before they post.
  • To report something off-app, email info@jointhecue.app and we reply within one business day.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to reverse-engineer, scrape, or load-test the Service; use bots to create accounts or post; spam other users; sell or sublicense your access; access another user's account; or submit ad applications you don't intend to pay for.

7. Music-service connections

Cue integrates with Spotify and Apple Music; your use of those is subject to their own terms (Spotify's End-User Agreement, Apple Media Services Terms). We store only aggregated summaries, not full play history. If a service revokes access or changes its API, the relevant features may stop working.

8. Sponsored cards

  • Some feed entries are paid placements from artists and labels, clearly labeled "Sponsored" or "Featured."
  • They represent the advertiser, not Cue's editorial opinion. We screen for fit but don't endorse the music.
  • Frequency-capped at one per ten organic entries, and at most one per user per day.
  • Artists' applications and quoted prices are subject to our review; we may decline without reason. Payment is collected only after approval, via Stripe.

9. Payments & refunds (artists only)

  • Sponsored placements are paid via Stripe Checkout; we never see your card number.
  • Once a campaign goes live, the placement is non-refundable. If we cancel before it goes live, we refund in full.
  • If a campaign fails to deliver due to our outage, we'll extend the run or refund pro-rata at our discretion.

10. Termination

You can stop using Cue any time. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or risk our users or infrastructure. We'll usually warn first; in egregious cases (illegal content, harassment) we may act immediately.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

Cue is provided "as is" and "as available." We don't guarantee it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any feature will keep working forever, and disclaim all implied warranties to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of $50 USD or the amount you've paid us in the past 12 months. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts of Los Angeles County, CA, except where local consumer-protection law gives you the right to your home jurisdiction.

14. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms in a way that materially affects your rights, we'll notify you in the app at least 14 days in advance. Continued use after the change takes effect counts as acceptance.
